Taking her name from her hometown, Samsan-myeon, Samsan is a fresh new singer-songwriter making waves with her unique blend of Korean-inspired sounds, witty lyrics, and innovative storytelling. In 2022, she released the song “I Don’t Know!” with the intention of pouring everything into her music before giving up. Ironically, this track became her breakthrough, winning multiple awards and marking the start of her incredible journey. In late 2024, her extraordinary talent was further recognized when she claimed 1st place in the prestigious traditional music competition, ‘Sori Frontier X Birth of Sori.’
With deep roots in traditional Korean music, Samsan mastered the gayageum and haegeum before diving into music composition at the prestigious Korean National University of Arts. Her artistry bridges the timeless and the modern, blending introspection with bold reflections on the future of traditional arts. Samsan’s music is a raw, poignant narrative—part rant, part revelation—that captures her personal journey and redefines traditional sounds with fresh, unfiltered emotion.
Samsan’s tours are available for both solo and quartet sets, including guitar, bass, and percussion, offering audiences a dynamic, immersive musical experience.
